Marketplace payouts, fees, returns, GST TCS, income-tax TDS and GST returns all sit in different reports. We bring them into one set of books for Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra and D2C sellers across India, and reconcile them every month before you file.
Our team is led by Chartered Accountants, and we work with sellers online in every state from our office in Faridabad.
Why marketplace accounting is different
On Amazon or Flipkart, the platform sits between you and your customer. The customer pays the marketplace, and the marketplace pays you in settlements after taking its fees, collecting taxes on your behalf and adjusting for returns. One payout can combine hundreds of orders. If your books record only the bank credit, your sales, expenses and tax credits will all be wrong. This is what comes out of a typical payout:
| Item | What it is | How we record it |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fees | Referral or commission, closing, shipping or fulfilment, storage and advertising charges | Expense by type, with GST on the fee invoice checked for input tax credit |
| GST TCS | Tax collected at source by the marketplace under section 52 of the CGST Act, currently 0.5% of the net taxable value of your sales | A receivable, matched with the credit in your electronic cash ledger. It appears only after the marketplace files its GSTR-8 |
| Income-tax TDS | 0.1% of the gross sales value, before fees and returns, under section 393(1) of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (earlier section 194-O) | Tax already paid, matched with Form 26AS and your AIS |
| Returns and refunds | Amounts reversed when customers return items | Credit notes, reducing sales and GST liability in the right month |
We explain all of this, with a monthly checklist, in our guide to Amazon seller accounting in India.

Our monthly reconciliation process
- Collect the settlement, sales and returns reports and the fee invoices for the month.
- Match sales, returns and refunds with what will be reported in GSTR-1.
- Check the TCS in your electronic cash ledger against the marketplace’s settlement reports.
- Check the GST on fee invoices against GSTR-2B before claiming input tax credit.
- Record TDS deducted, and compare it later with Form 26AS or your AIS.
- Match bank credits with settlements, including reserves and holds.
- Update stock, and book reimbursements for lost or damaged items.
- File GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B on time, with the numbers tied back to the above, and send you a short summary.
Common problems we fix
- Books that show only the bank payout instead of gross sales, fees, TCS and TDS separately.
- TCS credit sitting unused in the cash ledger because it was never reconciled.
- Sales in GSTR-1 that do not match the marketplace’s own reports, which can attract notices.
- Input tax credit missed on marketplace fees.
- Returns that cross month ends and distort sales and GST liability.
- Past months with mismatches that need correcting.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need GST registration to sell online?
Sellers of goods through an e-commerce operator are generally required to register under GST regardless of turnover, while suppliers of certain services have a threshold. We check your situation and guide you.
What is GST TCS for marketplace sellers?
It is tax collected at source by the marketplace under section 52 of the CGST Act, currently 0.5% of the net taxable value of your sales. It is credited to your electronic cash ledger only after the marketplace files its GSTR-8.
What is the TDS rate on marketplace sales?
0.1% of the gross sales value, before fees and returns, under section 393(1) of the Income-tax Act, 2025, which replaced section 194-O from 1 April 2026. Resident individuals and HUFs with sales up to โน5 lakh in a year are not subject to it, if PAN or Aadhaar is furnished.
Can you fix past mismatches?
Yes. We reconcile earlier months and correct returns where possible.
Which marketplaces do you support?
Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra and your own website store on Shopify or WooCommerce.
Can I claim GST on marketplace fees?
Generally yes, if you are registered, the fees relate to taxable sales and the invoice appears in your GSTR-2B. We check each invoice before claiming.
What do I need to share to get started?
Usually your settlement and sales reports, fee invoices and bank statements for the period. After a short call we tell you exactly what is needed for your business.
How much does it cost?
